This is a role that can be based out one of the following offices: Austin, TX, Frisco, TX, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, or St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will assume multi-project responsibilities for electrical and control system design including cleanroom design and process utility systems. Projects will be in advanced manufacturing and technology markets.Job Activities:Prepare complete and accurate Electrical and Control System construction drawings and specificationsPrepare preliminary schematics, calculations, equipment selection and equipment layoutsDevelop detailed control system schematics and loop diagramsDevelop control system architecture and network drawingsDevelop hardware specificationsCollaborate with process and mechanical engineers to develop PFDs and P&IDsManage project design budgets, work breakdown structures, schedules and execution plans, focused on unimpeachable qualityActively engage in and assume responsibility for code research and applicationInterface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors to deliver automation and control system solutionsDevelop and document functional control descriptions based on control requirementsCoordinate with and lead other production staff to deliver construction documents and deliverablesAbility to simultaneously organize and successfully execute responsibilities for multiple projectsSpecific Requirements include:BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Process, or Architectural EngineeringLicenses/Registrations: Professional Engineer License (PE) strongly preferred8 + years of relative Electrical and Control System Design experience, including schematics, control panel layouts, and power distributionAbility to work independently and lead othersExperience in Advanced Manufacturing, Semiconductor, Clean Room, Water Treatment, or Life Sciences and general manufacturing a plusDemonstrated technical proficiency in designing automation solutions with PLC and DCS platformsApplication knowledge of electrical, building, and energy codes is desiredApplication knowledge of controller programming languages and HMI configuration desiredStrong verbal and writing skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environmentStrong background with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and REVITAbility to travelAbout Farnsworth GroupFarnsworth Group is an award winning, employee-owned engineering, architecture, and surveying firm with more than 500 employees located in nearly 30 offices nationwide.
