NOV Cedar Park is recruiting a CNC Machinist to safely and efficiently set up and operate a CNC Mill or CNC Lathe., Mazak CNC Lathes, Mazak Mills, and HAAS Mills. On-site, day shift work.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of a supervisor, foreperson, and/or lead, responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines in a safe, and efficient manner.
Perform set-up including locating tools and fixtures, defining tools, touching off tools, setting jaws, vices or fixturing.
Work off a dispatch report to ensure that jobs are run in proper sequence.
Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment.
Operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, and jogging machine.
Read blueprints, precision measuring instruments and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance and tooling requirements.
Maintain tolerancing through entire run, while performing periodic inspection to be documented on Inspection Sheets.
Trouble shoot issues during run to return the machine to good operation.
Properly deburr and break edges of parts to print.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Work safely in accordance with HSE and facility requirements.
Encourage and support 5S methodology.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED.
3+ years setting up and operating a CNC.
Must have a broad knowledge of CNC Lathe operation, programming, edits, and tool selection.
Must have knowledge of math, blueprint comprehension and routers, required.
Knowledge of the proper use of metrology equipment, tools/gauges and cutting tools is preferred. Moderate knowledge of GD&T, preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
Ability to work overtime when required.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time & be able to work in a climate-controlled facility.
Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
Must contribute, share ideas for improvement and work well within a team.
Foster a positive safety culture and possess and contribute to safety awareness.
Must have Initiative to complete basic housekeeping.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Able to operate a computer and other office machinery using finger dexterity for typing and writing.
Must be able to operate overhead cranes.
Standing, Walking, Bending/Stooping, Push/Pull, and Repetitive Movement up to 8+ hours daily.
Visual acuity to view a computer screen.
Lifting weights to 40 pounds regularly.

We specialize in small part machining, fabrication, and electro-mechanical assembly and are adept at manufacturing for hazardous area applications holding numerous certifications across a variety of products. Our plant has high demand and is operating 24/7 to produce these products for our customers. To meet the demand for our products, we provide employees with an air-conditioned environment, highly organized and clean manufacturing facility and have a strong safety program designed to ensure our team goes home safe to their families after every shift.
