Job Title: Controls EngineerJob DescriptionTo coordinate all aspects of the PLC Siemens control system, to operate efficiently and effectively to predetermined and agreed standards, and within budgetary constraints and quality standards.To undertake a comprehensive training program, to be able to understand every aspect of the Electrical engineering requirements within PLC Siemens.To operate the company support systems and ensure they are properly used and maintained. To attend any further training / development courses as required.To ensure the plant and equipment is fully operational and meets production requirements 365 days per year.To provide support to the manufacturing areas whilst meeting budgetary requirements and within agreed timescales.To assist with planning, installation and commissioning equipment as required. To monitor equipment performance.To ensure a suitable availability of required essential spare parts, through liaison with the engineering manager and stores manager.To assist when requested, with capital project planning and installation.To coordinate all control system engineering aspects of Siemens (involving PLC Siemens (Simatic S7-1500), HMI Siemens WinCC, VFD (variable frequency drives: Sinamics, SEW, Lenze) while ensuring compliance with standards and current legislation, are maintainedTo organize the planning, maintenance and modifications of control systems.To provide recommendations to improve plant and efficiency, along with cost-effectiveness.Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical hands-on ability relating to automation hardware and software.Understanding of PLC control system architecture and field control devices Siemens preferred, but others will be considered.Strong understanding of electrical diagrams.Online code monitoring, modification and development.Experience in automation control system start-ups, loop tuning, and troubleshooting.Training and certification from Siemens is preferred.Programming experience preferably PLC Siemens (Simatic S7-1500), HMI Siemens WinCC, VFD (variable frequency drives: Sinamics, SEW, Lenze).About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
