Position Description: The Ingram School of Engineering seeks to develop a pool of candidates for postdoctoral scholar (post-doc) positions in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. A post-doc is a professional appointment designed to provide recent doctoral degree recipients with an opportunity to gain experiences and skills that will advance their careers. A post-doc works under the supervision and sponsorship of a regular faculty member, who serves as a mentor to the post-doc, and it is expected that the faculty sponsor will provide an orientation and development plan for the post-doc, impart the realities and variety of careers available to the post-doc, and encourage learning opportunities to broaden the post-doc’s aspirations and experiences.

The appointment involves substantial and full-time commitment to research, scholarship, teaching, or other professional activities. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school need.

This posting is for March 2024 – August 2024 hires. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.

Required Qualifications: Recently awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., D.Sc., M.D.).

Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Application Procedures: The Ingram School of Engineering will accept applications from qualified applicants on a continual basis. Applications submitted through the Texas State University website will be accepted and considered. Interested individuals should submit a current CV, letter of interest outlining specific academic and professional experiences relevant for a postdoc research appointment, statement of research interests, unofficial transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. The selected candidate will be required to provide official transcripts from the highest degree granting institution.
