Job Description
Required Skills: TCP/IP
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Extensive knowledge with at least one of the following vendors: Cisco, Arista, and Force10. Brocade may also be considered.
- Ability to gather complex network requirements to be used in creating highly resilient and scalable network designs.
- Proven experience with capacity planning and performance tuning of enterprise and production systems/network infrastructures.
- Experience in aligning systems/network infrastructure goals to organization needs.
- Ability to conduct in-depth research into issues and technologies as required and recommend preferred hardware and/or solutions.
- Must be able to document detailed design documents such as Visio diagrams, architecture definition documents, IP allocations, device descriptions, and narratives describing the function of the design.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, and use experience and judgment to accomplish goals.
- Engage with vendors to procure hardware and provision telecom WAN circuits.
- Must possess effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Participate in weekly on-call rotation for 24x7 support as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a dedicated network engineer.
- CCNA or equivalent certification and experience; CCNP is a plus.
- Experience working in a web services environment is a plus.
- Mastery of TCP/IP, IP Security (IPSec, SSL, TLS...), and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Knowledge and proven experience with VMware and Linux systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with multicast streams is a plus.
