Job Overview

Lupin Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Associate Facility Engineer II to manage facility and utility systems at our Somerset, NJ site. You’ll be responsible for leading capital projects, maintaining facility operations, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Reporting to the Engineering Director, this role is essential for optimizing engineering solutions, overseeing maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic pharmaceutical production environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Support: Provide multi-disciplinary expertise in facility and utility systems, addressing operational challenges and developing technical solutions.
  • Capital Project Management: Lead capital expenditure (CapEx) projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and safety objectives.
  • Utility Systems Oversight: Manage maintenance and operations for critical systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, air compressors, purified water, and wastewater treatment.
  • Facility Maintenance: Oversee building repairs, equipment maintenance, and automated systems while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste within facility operations.
  • Root Cause Investigations: Lead investigations into utility and facility deviations using root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, procurement, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Compliance Management: Oversee external service providers for maintenance and regulatory compliance, including building and boiler permits, pest control, and safety protocols.


Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience:
  • 2-6 years of hands-on experience with facility and utility systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers) in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in project management and leading CapEx projects.
  • Technical expertise in regulatory compliance, including cGMP standards.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of utility systems, facility equipment, and building maintenance operations.
  • Experience with root cause problem-solving methodologies for facility issues.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and project management skills.


Work Hours

  • Standard schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
  • Flexibility required for occasional off-hour and weekend support during emergencies or project deadlines.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $80K - $90K (commensurate with experience)
  • Annual Bonus: Performance-based, 7.5%-10%
  • Relocation Assistance: Available for the right candidate
