Accredo Packaging, Inc. manufactures and supplies sustainable high value added, flexible packaging, predominantly for the pre-packaged foods and consumer products markets in North America. The Quality Engineer ensures the company adheres to the Quality Control Plan to produce high quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead problem solving and root cause identification efforts for nonconforming products and customer complaints.
• Work with other departments, such as Production, R&D, Planning and Procurement to develop and implement corrective action plans.
• Verify effectiveness of corrective actions through various methods, such as audits and data collection and analysis.
• Review and improve as needed the current QC test methods and procedures.
• Work with R&D to develop quality standards and testing protocols for customer/product trials and qualifications.
• Will review quality analysis with relevant production and plant managers.
• Visit customers and suppliers if necessary for quality incident investigations. • May travel up to 20%.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in packaging manufacturing specifically in a Quality Engineering role.
• Proficient in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Understanding of process capability and validation.
• Auditing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of a Quality Management System and global standards, such as GFSI and ISO 9001.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task and change priorities as issues arise.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly in spreadsheets, databases, and statistical applications like Minitab.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to facilitate teams and work successfully in a team environment.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 Commensurate with experience.
