Job Description

Position Summary: The Software Engineer is responsible for system design and full life cycle development and support of C++ code and related technologies in the user interface applications for Stereotaxis technologies. This role will design, develop, document, and test software written in the C++ language using Microsoft Developer Studio, and must be able to implement multiple complex software products within agreed schedule and budget.

  1. Translate customer specifications for a software product into requirement specifications, defining architecture, and creating detailed designs.
  2. Code software using C++ language and Microsoft Developer Studio.
  3. Design, implement, debug, unit test and document assigned features.
  4. Develop robust and safe software intended for use in a medical device.
  5. Responsible for peer reviewing software and software designs of other S/W Engineers.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
  2. 5+ years relevant experience developing Object Oriented software.
  3. Proficient in C++ programming in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and MFC environments.
  4. Experience with Object Oriented Design, Patterns, multi-threading, STL.
  5. Demonstrated ability of working with multiple complex software development projects and a thorough understanding of the complete software life cycle process.
  6. Experience in the design and development of medical devices preferred.
  7. Working knowledge of OpenGL and 3D software development preferred.
  8. Experience with the design and development of embedded systems, working with motion controllers.
  9. Understanding of network communication protocols and devices.
  10. Familiarity with medical regulatory guidance for software, and FDA regulatory pathways including IDE and 510k.
  11. Legally authorized to work in the United States.
