The Moody’s Ratings Technology group is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in UI/frontend development with a strong background in modern frameworks and tooling. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and at least 5 years of professional experience. While the focal point of this role is frontend, a basic understanding of backend technologies is desired.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and development of data-heavy application experiences
- Collaborate with UX/XD team members to ensure overall quality and usability of applications
- Coach/Mentor mid and junior level team members
- Optimize applications for quality, testability, and performance
- Collaborate with other technical and non-technical coworkers to identify, plan, and prioritize application features and enhancements
- Understand concepts throughout the development stack to effectively and productively communicate with other technical team members
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and propose ways to apply them to operations and products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in front-end development.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, Angular, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Significant experience with component-based frameworks, preferably Angular
- Very strong understanding of Javascript and TypeScript
- Very strong understanding of CSS; including frameworks and processing tools such as TailwindCSS, PostCSS, and Sass
- Strong understanding of unit testing and e2e testing frameworks such as Jest, Karma, Cypress, etc.
- Strong understanding of package/dependency management and workspace tools such as NPM, Yarn, Nx, etc.
- Strong understanding of code modularity, code reuse, and how to accomplish and maintain these principles in large codebases with numerous contributors
- Understanding of object-oriented design patterns and functional programming paradigms
- Ability to write technical requirements and instruct/guide implementations
- Additional Skills:
- Some experience with full-stack development
- Experience with server-side typescript frameworks Nest.js, Next.js, Nuxt.js
- A general understanding of server-side development, most notably API development to support front-end experiences
- Experience with GraphQL
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is ($94,800 - $137,400), depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
