Job Description
This position is within the HVHP Engineering Group in XP Power High Bridge, NJ. Engineering Technician position to work with Engineering and Sustaining developing and evaluating switching power technologies for high voltage power supply applications. This position is a hands-on role with an opportunity to learn technical and engineering skills across a multi-disciplinary department. Using schematics, sketches or verbal instructions, technician to fabricate fixtures and equipment used for assembly working prototypes. With engineering support, design basic circuits, organize recorded test data and write reports. Role includes opportunities to inspect and debug circuits, test their functions and limits, make repairs and offer changes to design in improving performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support Engineers in verifying numerous electronic circuits, measurement of electrical parameters and test setup / monitoring.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and modify product prototypes and troubleshoot electrical circuits down to the component level. Solder and rework.
  • Assembles experimental circuitry or complete prototype developments to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and key experience of electronic power supplies and their subcomponents.
  • Collaborate with other validation engineers on transitioning product to volume production and manage product sustaining efforts.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing problems on new or existing products.
  • Develop manufacturing test methods and equipment.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is required, reinforced with practical engineering experience.
  • Preferably 3-4 years of hands-on working experience in electronic industry with good experience for solving engineering problems.
  • Experience with soldering of both fine pitch SMT and through-hole components is desirable.
  • Ability to execute a test independently, from setup to result reporting is necessary.
  • Familiarity with the operation of electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks with minimum supervision
