BSEt, a subsidiary of Tanadgusix Corporation (TDX), an Alaska Native Corporation, is currently recruiting for the position of Cybersecurity Engineer. This position is located in San Diego, CA, and is a full time, on-site position. This position will report directly to the government Project Lead for daily operations.
JOB SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will provide Cybersecurity System Engineering support to a U.S. Navy program. This support shall be consistent with the layered approach of all Navy domains and shall include:
- Support design and implementation of Navy system integrations.
- Documentation of the Navy system and interconnected systems.
- Configuration of systems within Navy's lab (development, testing, and production).
- Engineering of new capabilities at a cleared level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Activities will include updating and improving System Design Documents, reviewing Enterprise Change Requests, and working closely with other software engineers to ensure on-time delivery of capabilities and in alignment with ECRs. Prior experience in several of the following areas is preferred:
- Conducting systems engineering for cybersecurity, information assurance, and compliance design, integration, implementation, modification, and coordination of the installation, testing, operation, and disposition of hardware and software systems.
- Conducting analyses, developing functional and technical requirements and specifications, documentation, monitoring the availability, serviceability, and recoverability of installed technology security systems, implementing cyber security procedures and tools.
- Maintaining systems configuration, managing the installation and integration of system patches updates, and enhancements, and ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices.
- Studying malware trends and applying in-depth understanding of the threat to the development and implementation of defense-in-depth strategies.
- Exercising critical judgment in fast-paced environments to determine the optimum resolution of system or network incidents detected by or reported to network engineers.
- Executing operational Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) activities.
- Proactively evaluating the system and network enterprise environments using technical knowledge and analytical skill to determine the optimum integration of technology.
- Performed other critical mission tasks as required from the NCSA PMW 130 to accomplish organization's mission and objectives.
COMPETENCIES:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
- Familiarity with network protocols, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Must be adept at problem solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations to the task lead and lab manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- IAT2 certification.
- Minimum of four (4) years of systems-level engineering experience.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Must possess and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance; prefer a Top-Secret clearance.
- This level is intended to coincide with DoD 8570.01M IAT/IAM/IASAE Level III and the Contractor must comply with the associated qualification and certification requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
- Microsoft Office, including MS Project and MS Visio.
- Demonstrated experience in Cisco networking, including architecture and CLI programming.
