Overview

As an integral member of our software team, you will play a leading role in bringing the production of our eVTOL to Industry 4.0. You will be responsible for the conception and development of services interacting with everything from large production machines to users, driving automation and coherence to existing regulations in this new type of industry.

Responsibilities

Your tasks in detail:

• Development of Backend services using Python
• Interfacing with Frontend developers to realize needed functions
• Further development of the existing architecture and optimization of automation strategies
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and align requirements and functionalities
• Collaborating with external vendors to determine optimal strategies and ensure system stability
• International deployment at locations in the USA and Germany

Required

• Completed studies in (business) informatics, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field
• Advanced proficiency in Python
• Advanced proficiency in working with Docker
• Advanced knowledge in RESTful web services

Desired

• Working proficiency with GitHub-based CI/CD
• Working proficiency with databases such as PostgreSQL and/or TimescaleDB
• Ideally, familiarity with different file systems such as cloud storage or similar
• Ability to work independently in international teams
• Experience with complex projects and agile working methods
• Ideally, experience in the production sector

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay, bonus, and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $132,200 - $197,900/year. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
