SUMMARY
As Process Engineer you will maintain the quality and integrity of Metallized Carbons processes in order to support production. As a Process Engineer you will be the link to provide statistics and reports related to material processing, material quality, and process status across several departments at Metallized Carbons Ossining and Mountain Dale facility. To be successful, you will need to regularly gather and analyze data from these processes or from resources in those processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Process Control
- Analyze process and material parameters
- Coordinate lab QC personnel and their duties with QC supervisor
- Validate material and process quality
- Notify and provide suggested actions to management regarding any out of tolerance process
- Develop and provide process status reports to management
Process Optimization
- Research, recommend, and implement new equipment
- Provide continuous support and training for the life of the new equipment
- Perform time studies and provide recommendations for improving current processes and equipment
- Support lean, 5S or other processes improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies throughout the plant
Technical Support
- Support COO and management team with any technical tasks
- Manage drawings and repairs for all die sets
- Support outside lab testing
- Develop and complete DOEs and MQI to provide root cause analysis of failures
- Monitor hazardous waste
- Monitor generation of waste, satellite locations and storage
- Ensure proper labeling and handling practices are followed
- Perform periodic audits to ensure the correct protocols are being followed
R & D
- Support Product Manager with the design of new products
- Provide recommendations for the manufacturing methods of new products
- Support the manufacturing process and validate quality and repeatability of the new product
- Provide a clear conclusion of the project findings
TECHNICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or similar Technical Field
- Experience 1-2 years in a manufacturing engineering role
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficient in CAD software, particularly TurboCAD
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience in robotics programming preferred
- Experience in PLC & Arduino programming preferred
