As a member of our Engineering Services Team, you will be responsible for creating substation drawing packages including one-line drawings, substation plan and elevation drawings, electrical assembly drawings, equipment manufacturing drawings, foundation and grounding plan drawings, conduit and cable routing plan drawings, cable schedules, bill of materials, and detailed electrical connection drawings.Systems Control is North America's leader in the design & manufacturing of solutions that protect, transmit and distribute energy from source to grid to consumer. To view all opportunities to join our team and to learn more about who we are, visit our website at systemscontrol.com.A Day In The LifeDevelop and modify the following engineering deliverables with minimal guidance:Substations equipment and devicesSubstation structures and/or modifications to existing steel structuresSubstation Site Development Drawings (i.e. cable trenches, conduit sizing/routing, etc)Detailed Substation Bill of MaterialsBelow grade and above grade drawing packagesGeneral arrangement and elevation drawingsEquipment Manufacturer DrawingsElectrical One-Line DrawingElectrical Bus and Conductor Sizing and ConnectionsControl Building LayoutsFoundation Plan Drawing and Design ReviewGrounding Design & Analysis, and ConnectionApply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, transformer sizing, and lightning protectionParticipate in training new hires in the following areas:The fundamentals of Substation DesignManaging Substation Design projectsProvide general understanding of considerations of Station Design outside of Electrical portionEnsure compliance with industry standards, codes and design requirements such as National Electric Safety Code (NESC), National Electric Code (NEC) and IEEE standards for substation bus designCollaborate with protection and control engineering and structural engineering teams to implement their comments into designProvide construction support and provide solutions to problems that arise during construction/installationWhat will help you thrive in this role?Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Technology programMinimum of five-year experience in the field of engineering disciplines as noted aboveOn track to obtain PE License in the U.S.Strong attention to detailAbility to communicate technical details in a clear mannerProven analytical and problem-solving skillsProject management experience with ability to assist in multi-team projects to completionAbility to interpret requirements and application of company and industry standards, guidelines, and methodsCompetenciesCommunicating and InfluencingContinuous ImprovementCustomer FocusEnabling ExecutionInitiative and DrivePlanning, Organizing, and Decision MakingResolving ConflictHubbell IncorporatedHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
