Job DescriptionJob Title: Automation Co-op
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Sr. Automation Engineer
SUMMARY
The co-op student will be working on job assignments related to their computer science or engineering education. These increasingly challenging assignments will provide foremost an effective learning assignment and then a sound intellectual and/or financial return for the PCC organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The student will apply principles that he or she has learned in school to hands-on situations, such as program development for PCC use.
- The student will be responsible for accomplishing performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility throughout his/her co-op experience.
- Will identify address controls and automation issues.
- Student will attend a weekly departmental meeting.
- Will take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
- Participate on project teams for some assigned projects.
- Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.
- Will have to work with controls and automation equipment.
- Student can expand responsibilities into computer programming or networking, at their interest.
- Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of controls hardware and PLCs
- Basic knowledge of HMIs and Ladder Logic
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of SQL and Python, C# or VBA is a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

- Co-ops will be paid $24.00 hour /40-hours a week
