Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists with the development and implementation of safety programs and procedures
- Ensures manuals, policies, and procedures are in place and in adherence to regulations and company expectations
- Executes the safety vision and plan for the company and mentors the staff and employees in achieving that vision
- Conducts or coordinates employee training in areas of safety, regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
- Develops and assures adherence to site-specific Safety Plans
- Leads and documents appropriate risk/hazard assessments
- Conducts corresponding follow-ups and implementation of corrective action items to minimize and/or eliminate incidents that have the potential to cause harm to one of the Company's employees, contractors, or visitors
- Effectively communicates the health and safety goals, objectives, performance expectations, and metrics throughout the facility
- Performs and administers safety audits and inspects job sites, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
- Analysis and utilizes data to set safety priorities and develop action plans
- Document and investigate all incidents involving property damage, personal injury, safety violations, near misses, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance activities
- Participates in auditing site safety and health programs to identify areas that require attention.
- Full knowledge and understanding of all local, state, and federal OSHA requirements as well as MYCON requirements
- Accompany OSHA compliance officers and insurance inspectors during on-site audits
- Prepare and update site-specific safety policy, including project emergency action procedures, work assignments, pre-task planning, personnel administration, and training for an emergency contingency plan
- Evaluate subcontractor qualifications, training programs, and competency
- Document and investigate all incidents involving property damage, personal injury, safety violations, near misses, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance activities.
- Accompany OSHA compliance officers and insurance inspectors during on-site audits
- Perform job site inspections through safety management software
- Assist incident investigation teams and ensure that incident reports are thorough, complete, and root causes corrective actions, and lessons learned have been determined
- Provide monthly safety program summary report as required
- Assist with companywide assessment and development of Safety Programs
Required education and skills needed but not limited to the following:
- Demonstrated 5+ years' experience in a safety position preferred or equivalent education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Bilingual preferred
- A minimum of OSHA 30-hour training, First Aid/CPR/BBP, and AED training
- Candidate must have documented training in the following:
Fall Protection
Scaffolding
Excavations
Confined Spaces
Crane/Equipment Operations
Electrical
Incident Investigation
OSHA 510
OSHA 500 - Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of applicable occupational safety and health regulations
- Achievement of CHST is required within two years of appointment to this position
- Demonstrated management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train others
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong teaching, coaching, facilitation, and mentoring skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ProCore
- Excellent problem-solving and investigation skills with a focus on root cause analysis and the development of sustainable corrective actions
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, with the ability to interact professionally and productively with staff at all levels, including firm leadership. Strong customer service skills needed to build and maintain relationships
- Creative and innovative thinker
- Self-starter. Capable of working productively in a team setting, as well as independently
- Strong in leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution and can manage challenging situations to a successful conclusion with a can-do attitude

- Driving to various geographical locations, which will be in different locations/clients each day
- While performing the duties of this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, and hear, stand climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- tools, or controls; and to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision ability
- The employee must be able to lift and/or carry or push/pull over 75+ pounds on a periodic basis
- The employee must be able to stand and/or walk at least eight hours per day.
- The Employee must be able to work and adapt to outside temperature fluctuations such as the heat of the summer and the cold of the winter months
- Ability to travel including some overnight stays
- Ability to work non-traditional shifts on occasion
- The work in this position is performed both indoors and outdoor
- Reliable, predictable attendance at the scheduled site/office
- Ability to work in sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
