Position Summary:

The Information Technology (IT) Automation Engineer position designs, deploys and maintains autonomous IT Operations system-enabled capabilities to improve IT Services for the company. This position ensures support of the systems which support those business capabilities to deliver results. The IT Automation Engineer plays a vital role in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and optimizing IT infrastructure management through the application of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and automation technologies.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  1. Design, develop, and implement autonomous IT Operations systems that utilize AI and machine learning to automate routine tasks, monitor infrastructure, and predict potential issues.
  2. Incorporate AI and machine learning models into IT operations to analyze and interpret data from various sources, enabling predictive maintenance, fault detection, and performance optimization.
  3. Create continuous monitoring systems to track the health and performance of IT infrastructure, applications, and services in real-time.
  4. Develop and maintain automated incident response protocols to address and resolve system issues or anomalies without human intervention as applicable.
  5. Create, maintain, and improve scripts and workflows for automation, including provisioning, configuration management, and software deployment.
  6. Analyze historical data and performance metrics to identify trends, predict future issues, and develop strategies for system enhancements.
  7. Maintain detailed documentation of autonomous IT operations processes, configurations, and procedures.
  8. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in the field of autonomous IT operations.
  9. Propose innovative solutions to enhance IT performance.
  10. Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Manufacturing, Logistics or related field and 3 plus years of experience in Information Technology Operations, System Administration and/or Network Management or HS Diploma/GED and 6 plus years of experience in Information Technology Operations, System Administration and/or Network Management.
  2. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Strong collaboration skills.
  6. Experience working on cross-functional teams.
  7. Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation technologies.
  8. Strong knowledge of IT management tools, monitoring solutions, and cloud platforms.
  9. Strong work ethic.
  10. Change management experience.
  11. This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  1. Master's degree.
  2. Certification in Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning and/or automation.
  3. Ability to understand and manage business situations.
  4. Conflict resolution experience.
  5. Strong organizational skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills.
