Job Description

We are looking for volunteers to join our team as Data Entry Assistants who will update and maintain our online database of freelance job listings in media and journalism. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will help ensure that our newsletter subscribers have access to the latest job opportunities.

This is a virtual job role completed fully online, and we ask that candidates be available for at least two hours per week. While Leading Like a Lady is based in the United States, we welcome international candidates to apply (especially those based in Africa, the Caribbean, and/or South America).

This position offers an invaluable opportunity to gain experience in data management and administration while making a positive impact on women of color experiencing job insecurity or career stagnation. Training and support will be provided to help you succeed in this role.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Update and maintain our online database of freelance job opportunities in media and journalism.
  2. Research and gather information on new job listings from various sources, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the data.
  3. Enter data into our database accurately and efficiently, following established guidelines and protocols.
  4. Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement and streamline processes for data entry and management.

Candidate Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  1. Familiarity with Airtable as a database management tool is required.
  2. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Google Workspace.
  3. Excellent research skills and the ability to vet online resources effectively.
  4. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
