Backend Software Engineer
This position requires an active TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph clearance or the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph clearance to be considered.
The Backend Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic, databases, and APIs. Ensures high performance, scalability, and security of backend systems, collaborating with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated Starting Salary Range for Backend Software Engineer : $160,000 to $215,000 annually.
- Pay commensurate with experience.
- Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Backend Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend systems.
- Implementing server-side logic, APIs, and database structures.
- Collaborating with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements.
- Ensuring security and data protection across applications.
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing code for maximum efficiency.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Managing and optimizing database performance and queries.
- Participating in code reviews and continuous integration processes.
- Staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Backend Software Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
- Seven (7) years of experience in software development (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance).
- Experience as a software developer or software engineer with at least one programming language.
- Experience with Java and Object-oriented programming.
- In-depth knowledge of architecture styles and APIs including REST, SOAP, etc.
- Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Minikube, etc.
- Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Experience with ElasticSearch.
- Experience with AWS environments.
- Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment.
- Understanding of GIS concepts (ESRI tools).
- CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
