Position Overview:

The Sr. Principal Cyber Dev Ops Engineer will serve as a Kubernetes administrator responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and deploying applications in a Kubernetes environment. The duties include researching for automation, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring team members. Responsibilities also include promoting security, efficiency, and scalability of core services and capabilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Installing, configuring, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
2. Developing Kubernetes-based solutions.
3. Improving Kubernetes infrastructure.
4. Creating the container infrastructure platform.
5. Designing and implementing solutions.
6. Enhancing delivery systems with Continuous Integration.
7. Coordinating with other internal teams to meet goals.
8. Deploying and monitoring applications in a Kubernetes environment.
9. Configuring hardware, services, and managing settings and storage.
10. Improving the monitoring and alert systems.
11. Troubleshooting issues and solving problems as needed.
12. Documentation and support.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Current DoD Secret Security Clearance.
2. BS + 9 years of experience; MS + 7 years of experience; PhD + 4 years of experience or additional years in lieu of a degree.
3. Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e., Security+, etc.).
4. Strong understanding of on-prem disconnected Kubernetes (Not cloud based) – Helm, custom deployments, Container Network Interfaces, Container Storage Interfaces, general resources.
5. Strong understanding of containerization concepts – Building container images, dockerfiles, private registries, ansible builder, docker, podman, containerd, runc.
6. IaC (Infrastructure as code) experience – Ansible Automation Platform, Execution Environments, CI/CD, GitOps, etc.
7. Knowledge of container security concepts – Pod Security Standards, Pod Security Admission, Pod Security Context, etc.
8. Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
9. Scripting – Python, Bash, etc.
10. Understanding of basic networking concepts.
11. Experience with hypervisors (Not cloud based) – ESXI, Harvester, Hyper-V, etc.
12. Experience in a disconnected multi-cluster environment.
13. Ability to quickly learn and handle strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Longhorn, Neuvector, cert-manager, Metallb, Hashicorp Vault, ZARF, etc.
2. Experience with RKE2 Kubernetes distribution.
3. RHCSA/RHCE Certified.
4. Experience writing Golang applications/Tools.
5. CKA/CKS/CKAD Certified.

Salary Range: $139,700 - $209,500. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
