Network Automation Engineer SME

Business Technology Integrators (BTI), headquartered in suburban Washington, D.C., is seeking a highly seasoned Network Automation SME and leader with advanced hands-on scripting and software development experience. CCNP (CCIE level preferred) with at least 15 years of related network, data center, and network monitoring system experience. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with polished consultative and communication skills and has a track record for building trusted advisor relationships with clients.

Qualified candidates must also work well with others, be highly dependable, possess a strong work ethic, be self-directed but collaborative, and have the following expertise:

1. SME level expertise with automation and development of full web stack, including Advanced Python Scripting experience and PHP full web stack.
2. Ansible IT Network Automation is desirable.
3. Network Management System skills – familiar with SNMP-based products such as SolarWinds, Capterra, Infoblox, and Stealthwatch to implement, operate, and advise VA is highly preferred.
4. Juniper or Aruba experience, in addition to Cisco networking, is a plus.
5. Strong LAN/WAN Networking systems management troubleshooting with SNMP, ACL, DNS, DHCP, SSH command line is a plus.
6. Self-Starter with the ability to conduct repetitive tasks without involvement of senior network engineering teams.
7. Identify configuration problems and analyze before significant service availability issues arise.
8. Discover network constructs and topologies, including layer 3 virtual routing and VRFs, as well as subnets, routes, VLANs, VRPP pairs, and more.
9. Enforce and standardize change processes and complex network changes at scale.
10. Seasoned professional with polished client relationship, communication, collaborative, and consultative advisory skills.
11. Strong technical documentation and Visio skills.
