Principal Electrical Design Engineer

My client is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer/Designer to lead the design of implantable electronics for a Class III medical device. You’ll oversee the development of PCBA layouts, schematics, and manufacturing files, ensure device longevity, and support all phases from design through commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and generate PCBA layouts and schematics.
• Develop and maintain energy budgets and ensure manufacturing endurance.
• Create and execute acceptance tests and troubleshoot electronics.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and qualify electronics.
• Report to the Head of Engineering.

Required Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10 years of experience in a regulated industry, with 2-4 years in a senior or principal role at a medical device company.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and experience in Class II or III medical devices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in medical device manufacturing and QMS compliance.
• Knowledge of Design Inputs, Risk Management, and V&V.
