Zoom Senior Security Data Engineer
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
As a Senior Security Data Engineer, you will be leading an effort to enhance Zoom’s security telemetry, logging, and data platform. You will develop security-focused telemetry needs based on real-world security threats, and help ensure telemetry production, dissemination, and storage scales at the speed of Zoom. You will work with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to enhance Zoom first-party service telemetry to aid detection, investigation, and response to security threats.
About the Team
Zoom’s Detection and Response (D&R) organization includes Detection & Analytics Engineering, Threat Intel, SOC, Incident Response, and Security Monitoring and Logging teams. The team's mission is defending Zoom, our brand, and our customers by preventing, detecting, and responding to cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams, detection engineers, Security Operations, and Incident Response to enhance security telemetry and logging for the threat detection framework.
- Ensure telemetry and logging for Zoom’s first-party products and services align with operational objectives and the evolving threat landscape.
- Translate security and business needs into technical requirements, capabilities, and solutions.
- Develop and maintain architecture documents and resources to guide the planning, design, and implementation of proposed solutions.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in Cybersecurity Data-related roles (e.g. SIEM Architect, Security Data Engineer, Security Engineer, Technical Program Manager) or a combination of software engineering and cybersecurity.
- Experience working as either a Software or Data Engineer or working with software engineers as part of the software development life cycle.
- Understand the Detection and Incident Response lifecycle and the role telemetry/logging plays during detection, investigation, and response.
- Able to formulate and drive programmatic solutions that will apply to dozens of teams and thousands of engineers.
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum: $118,600.00
Maximum: $259,500.00
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed, Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration base salary, bonus, and equity value.
Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
