Substation Project EngineerLocationPacificJob Code16576# of openings1Apply Now ( Project EngineerPOWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a Substation Project Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Small Utility Service (SUS) Department in our NW (Central Washington) Region. The department focuses on providing Owner Engineer and design services to PUDs, electric cooperatives, small municipalities that serve the public by providing electric utility service. The department includes several employees with past electric cooperative work experience. The department endeavors to have a strong service mindset, and the position provides the opportunity for the applicant to serve the membership and public of electric cooperative and public utility systems.Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will be responsible for successful completion of assigned projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships. Completion of these functions requires technical competence as well as leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring and supervising team members assigned to projects. This role will lead substation engineering project work, including, but not limited to:Develop project work scope documents, budgets, and proposalsComplete conceptual design and feasibility studiesPrepare construction cost estimates and project schedulesLead engineering design activitiesPerform substation design checkingSupport projects during constructionThe successful applicant must also demonstrate the following:Honesty and integrityStrong initiativeAttitude of service toward clientsWillingness to share successes with the project teamStrong command of the English languageStrong written/oral communication skills in order to communicate professionally with internal team members and clientsWillingness to travel occasionally to client sites or conferencesRequired Education/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical educationProfessional Engineering license (P.E.) or equivalent in the state of Washington, Oregon, or Texas, or ability to achieve P.E. within six (6) months of hire dateSeven (7) + years of experience performing physical and electrical substation designExperience preparing project work scope documents and sequence of construction plans for substation projectsMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordDesired Education/ExperienceP.E. in Washington, Oregon, or TexasExperience performing substation design for electric cooperatives, public utility districts, or municipalitiesExperience working at an electric cooperative, public utility district, or municipalityOne (1) + years of experience leading substation project design teamsAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
