Responsibilities
- Research, design, implement and support complex IT Networks, Servers, and Systems.
- Act as a technical expert in IT systems specializing in one or more specific technology areas (Cisco, ExtraHop, F5, and PingFederate).
- Maintain a high degree of awareness about emerging technologies and advise IT management.
- Provide expert advice and engineer repeatable processes relating to deployment, support, and maintenance of all areas of expertise.
- Manage internal projects as needed.
Qualifications
Education
Minimum Education Requirements: Associates Degree or equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree.
Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree BA/BS degree or equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
Knowledge/Skills
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Intermediate in-depth knowledge of enterprise environments and ability to engineer solutions to include but not limited to: Operating Systems, Desktop Operating Systems, Virtualization, Directory Services, E-mail, Disaster Recovery, Security, Antivirus, Storage Management, Print Management, Hardware Management, Mobile Device Management, Application Deployment, PKI, and DNS. Ability to understand complex systems and IT protocols. Ability to constantly adapt, learn and support new technologies.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of the following applications - Cisco 5500 series firewalls, Catalyst 6500 series chassis, Cisco 1000 and 3000 series routers. Knowledge of network segmentation and industry best practices. Knowledge of BGP/MPLS, WAAS, QoS, EIGRP configurations. Awareness of Change Management processes.
Experience
Minimum Experience Requirements: 10 or more years IT experience with any combination of the following: applications development, system technical support, systems administration, network engineering or system architecture. Minimum of 8 years of experience researching, designing, implementing complex systems.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and WiFi environments. Experience issuing and managing internal and external security certificates. Experience with NetMotion VPN connections. Experience with F5 load balancers. Experience troubleshooting and documenting complex network infrastructures.
License/Certifications
Minimum License/Certifications Requirements: None Required.
Preferred License/Certifications:
CCNA
