Track Engineer

Position Available: Track Engineer - Los Angeles, CA

Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Track Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. Reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager, you will contribute technical expertise and insights to railway projects, specializing in track construction, traction power, and train and traffic signal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering calculations and services for transit, passenger, and freight rail projects.
• Complete track and civil engineering tasks for local projects, including reviewing plan sheets, project specifications, and conducting submittals and RFI reviews.
• Lead the preparation of civil engineering and track documents, including plans, specifications, quantities, and calculations.
• Verify track horizontal and vertical alignments, process survey data, and perform regression analysis.
• Prepare detailed designs for special trackwork procurement and installation.
• Conduct occasional inspection and fieldwork as required.
• Collaborate closely with project managers to conduct research, development, and delivery on track/rail projects.
• Lead and manage track projects from inception to completion, taking ownership of the process.
• Mentor junior engineers in track installation processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and either MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Strong grasp of engineering principles, geometry, and algebra.
• Experience in track layout and alignment analysis, optimizing design parameters.
• Skilled in clearance analysis to ensure safety compliance and address structural conflicts.
• Familiarity with selecting and specifying track components based on project requirements and industry standards.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on complex transit projects.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
