Job Requirements / Description

Purpose: The primary purpose of the Quality Manager is to lead by example, ensuring processes and products are compliant with customer technical prints, specifications and quality system requirements. To champion efforts associated to AS900, NADCAP & customer quality requirements throughout the business.

 

Quality Manager Job Responsibilities:

·       Promote visibility of Key Business Metrics & associated actions, to adhere to AS9100 and NADCAP standards .

·       Create first articles in accordance with AS9102.

·       Ensure all internal drawings and travelers meet customer specifications.

·       Ensure required documentation and traceability is sufficient for finished products.

·       Perform in-process and incoming material inspections as needed.

·       Maintain and manage calibration records and ensure measurement tools are calibrated prior to expiration.

·       Drive quality with a goal of zero escapes.

·       Lead AS9100 & NADCAP audits.

·       Perform RCCA for internal nonconformities and customer returns.

·       Develop a training plan & train employees specific to quality standards.

·       Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

·       Others as needed.

 

Required Skills/Qualifications:

·       Minimum of five years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.

·       Minium of three years in an aerospace quality or engineering role.

·       Must be highly proficient in G.D.T. and interpreting drawings.

·       Full knowledge of aerospace quality standard AS9100.

·       Must have experience managing NADCAP processes: Specific to Paint, Chem film, other plating process, heat treat and welding. Others a plus.

·       Knowledge of dip brazing a plus.

·       Experience leading and managing N.P.I. (New Product Introduction) a plus.

·       Experience in making conformity decisions in an aerospace environment.

·       Working knowledge of calibration control practices.

·       Ability to use precision measuring tools; CMM experience a plus.

·       Ability to utilize software tools such as Excel, Word, and custom business ERP systems.

·       Must be able to work independently & in group settings.

·       Must have a B.A. in mechanical engineering or related aerospace degree. Master’s degree a plus.

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

·       Must be able to perform visual inspections with vision that is correctable to 20/20.

·       Must be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally

·       Must read & speak fluent English

·       Must be able to wear P.P.E. as required.

·       Full time On-site position

·       Work additional hours to meet company objectives.
