Job Description
The Configuration Management Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining the product configuration rules for the Electric Engines product. The Configuration Management Engineer will use industry standards and tools to manage the whole lifecycle of the product, maintaining records, managing change process and the product release for production. This engineer will work closely with Development Engineering, Quality and leadership. For this position the candidate will work in a collaborative cross-functional environment for the development of an Electric Engine.
- Responsible for creating requirements for PLM implementation. Use of aerospace industry establish standards such as EIA-649, MIL-STD-973, ISO10007, DO-178 and DO-254 as guidelines.
- Manage product Bill of Material (BOM) and product structure during development phase, including product certification and series production.
- Establish the process and manage the parts approval and release for production, including software and electronic hardware.
- Establish the Configuration Control Board and process for product change.
- Responsible for training the team considering the configuration processes.
- Define configuration KPI's and release configuration reports.
- Manage product configuration from sub-tiers.
- Manage product technical documentation.
- Flow down configuration requirements to sub-tiers.
- Perform required audits to assure compliance with configuration management procedures.
- Responsible for writing configuration reports for customer and airworthiness authority.
TECHNICAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Experience in Configuration Management within aerospace product
- Experience with FAA airworthiness requirements for product configuration
- Experience with PLM tools
- Experience with the whole cycle of at least one of the following standards, EIA-649, MIL-STD-973 or ISO10007
- Experience with software and AEH configuration management according DO-178 and DO-254
- Willingness to work with, and travel to, domestic and international design and manufacturing locations when necessary

PREFERRED:
- Experience in integration of electronic hardware and motor control.
- Experience as a host of Configuration Control Board meetings.
- Experience with ARP4754A configuration process.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's or PhD's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in configuration management
