Cred Protocol's building one of the first decentralized credit scores, a DeFi primitive that unlocks capital-efficient lending and enables under-served communities to access the power of DeFi lending.

Role

Data is the foundation of Cred Protocol. As our first Data Engineer, you’ll be designing and building our initial ETL/ELT pipelines and helping to go from MVP to DeFi-scale data processing. We’re initially focused on Ethereum-based lending pools such as Aave, Compound, MakerDAO and will be expanding across blockchains over time, so you’ll get a unique perspective on data engineering across chains.

Responsibilities

1. Build data pipelines to interpret data from Ethereum-based lending pools.
2. Build data pipelines across leading blockchains.
3. Integrate with market price feeds to normalize data.
4. Create and communicate a vision for processing blockchain data at DeFi scale.
5. Plan and prioritize our data platform roadmap, taking us from MVP to scale.
6. Communicate and coordinate across related functional areas such as Machine Learning, Web3 Engineering (Smart contract and Oracle engineering).
7. Inform and educate internal and external stakeholders through writing and speaking engagements.
8. For the right candidate, potential to hire and inspire our data engineering team.

Qualifications

1. Excited by decentralized finance's potential to rebuild traditional finance on blockchain rails that are fundamentally fairer and more transparent.
2. Comfortable learning and using new technologies.
3. 3+ years experience building ETL pipelines at scale.
4. 3+ years experience building data pipelines to clean, augment and normalize data.
5. 3+ years using agile development methodologies.
6. Ability to work with little guidance and find paths forward.
7. (Bonus) Hands-on experience implementing Flink and Kafka based data streaming platforms.
8. (Bonus) Hands-on smart contract development (on Ethereum blockchain).
9. (Bonus) Experience working in another crypto startup or protocol.
10. (Bonus) Experience working in lending or credit risk modeling.
