Job Requirements / Description

Under the direction of Valtir Vice President of Engineering, the E-TECH Manager shall manage the programs and objectives for E-TECH Testing Services, LLC, an independent testing laboratory and subsidiary of Valtir, LLC. The E-TECH Manager shall be responsible for operating the laboratory per internationally recognized quality standards (ISO), including implementation, qualification, maintenance and training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain E-TECH Testing as an ISO 17025 laboratory certification including:
    1. Accreditation qualification and renewal efforts
    2. Maintain programs, procedures and documentation in compliance with ISO 17025
    3. Participate in inter-lab collaboration projects
    4. Maintain equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Direct, train and supervise E-TECH test technicians.
  • Oversee test activities including overall test safety, vehicle guidance and tow preparation, camera and data acquisition setup, and post event data and video processing.
  • Prepare testing documentation and technical reports in accordance with prescribed testing standards including AASHTO MASH, EN1317, NTPEP, etc.
  • Manage crash test vehicle's acquisition, pre and post-test measurement and disposal.
  • Provide testing cost analysis and provide quotes/bids.
  • Evaluate data collection and processing techniques and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Provide timely updates to V.P. of Engineering as to E-TECH's activities and accomplishments and participate in weekly planning meetings.
  • Maintain E-TECH facilities including offices, shop and test track in laboratory quality condition. Recommend improvements as necessary.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform other duties and assignments as designated by Valtir CEO and V.P. of Engineering.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
College graduate with a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Civil or other related Engineering discipline with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a laboratory environment and experience in supervision. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Mechanical, Civil or other related Engineering disciplines desired.
Familiarity and experience with ISO 17025 is required.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position and operate a computer workstation. They must also have the ability to move about inside the office and laboratory shop and test track to supervise and work alongside test technicians. This person must be able to see and inspect test articles and vehicles and detect vehicle guidance deviation during towing test pulls.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will be in both a climate controlled office setting and outdoors in all seasons at the laboratory shop and test track. Periodic air travel to industry conferences will be required. Valid driver's license required. Working extended hours may be required as workload demands.
Salary Range: $86,869-$120,790, annually
