Job Description
Test and automate native mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms.
Maintain existing automated suites and manual suites to keep up with regular product updates.
Ensure proper operation of scheduled and manually run automated test suites and take appropriate action upon failure.
Work closely with developers and QA team members to ensure adequate automated coverage to reduce the scope of manual regression testing.
Add new mobile automated tests to the current mobile framework.
Create common routines and libraries for automation to be shared between teams to enhance efficiency and reduce redundancy.
Write detailed defect reports and work with development to assist with troubleshooting, resolution, and validation.
Support the release process and run automated regression tests against all supported mobile devices.
Typically works with minimal supervision and is a self-starter.
Establish testing entrance and exit criteria with documentation/test cases/automation to help junior team members understand the skills required to excel as a senior QA engineer.
Train others within the immediate team on testing techniques and automation.
Understand the need to test end-to-end, including not only mobile but also REST or SOAP APIs.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in 3 to 4 areas, including web and core.
Work well in Agile teams and understand the urgency of product delivery for QA, quickly self-training in areas of automation and understanding the new framework.
