Job Overview

We are currently seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer that will be responsible for creating and executing end-to-end test cases for new and existing features for our educator facing products in an agile/scrum and kanban environment. This person will collaborate with engineers, product managers and stakeholders around new features, enhancements, code changes and their impact on stability, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This candidate will be able to create test cases from requirement documents, user stories, and customer scenarios and present them to the team for review. This position requires the ability to track progress across different releases and environments via JIRA and communicate issues and status out to the team. This candidate will be working with other QA resources and automation engineers in a continuous QA process and take ownership of the products' quality and stability for each release. A strong background in the English language and the ability to test the product from a customer perspective is desired.

This position is for someone willing to ask Why and How from a customer and quality standpoint.

Location:

We are comfortable with this position being fully remote within the USA or being based out of our Concord, MA headquarters.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create, Execute, and maintain test cases for new feature, regression, and smoke test cycles
  • Transform customer scenarios that replicate real-world product usage into test cases
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action processes
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with other QA engineers, developers, customer support, educational curriculum, creative, and research experts
  • Use JIRA for all ticket types and track progress
  • Prioritize multiple, simultaneous assignments from within and outside of the QA group, including off-shore QA team members
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot API json requests and responses
  • Ability to query databases to verify and validate product data
  • Understanding of browser debugging and console tools
Job Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related field experience
  • 2+ years of software quality assurance experience
  • 1+ years of Database experience (SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Experience with test management systems, specifically Zephyr
  • Experience with JIRA to create and track issues within multiple products
  • Self-motivated and takes pride in their work, steady follow-up skills
  • Passion for finding inefficiencies and the desire to constantly improve
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
