About the role:
The Senior Quality Engineer will be a key member of the Nitinol Shape Memory WATCHMAN team providing line support and supporting key projects for improved process control & higher production capacity. This role will partner with the representatives from R&D, Design Assurance, Process Development, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production. The person in this role will take the lead in addressing quality issues in a dynamic production environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interfacing with downstream internal customers and providing quality leadership to a production team running across four shifts.
Your responsibilities include:
- Identifies and implements effective process control systems to support the development, qualification, and manufacturing of products to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
- Supports culture of continuous improvement by driving enhancements to existing process controls.
- Proactively investigates, identifies, and implements best-in-class Quality Engineering practices.
- Leads the implementation of process control, corrective or preventive action solutions designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
- Applies sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
- Actively engages production teams across all shifts to develop solutions leading to improved outgoing quality.
- Provides leadership role on championing departmental or cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Provides project direction, coaching, and mentoring engineering and technical team personnel.
- Acts as an effective leader or team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions, and practices.
- Assures the development and execution of streamlined business systems which effectively identify and resolve quality issues.
- Participates in team decision making and displays team problem solving/communication skills.
What we’re looking for:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience owning cross functional improvement and/or corrective action projects.
- Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, etc.).
- Self-starter with proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision.
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner with high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 year Engineering degree.
- Demonstrated project management success.
- 2 years minimum experience in the medical device, biotechnology or other highly regulated industry.
- 4 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to influence without authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
