As a Lead Platform Engineer Standards, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Infrastructure Platform Engineering Standards team reporting to the Senior Manager Infrastructure Platform Engineering Standards you will support projects including PEP and AWX.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Work with security to validate a potential new release (ie Ubuntu 24.04.1).
  • Create a new custom ISO for our engineers to install on the servers.
  • Design and run templates and workflows for onboarding new devices in AWX.
  • Work with our support team for any escalations.

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Work with our networking and security teams to troubleshoot potential issues
  • Weekly team meeting to review progress from the week, and plan for activities the following week
  • Work with our support team to deal with any escalations of problems in the field

What deliverables you will take ownership of:

  • Continue the migration from our Ansible server to AWX, including setting up scheduled jobs, and workflows for onboarding.
  • Work on an updated build process
  • Roadmap to update our estate of Ubuntu 20.04 servers to 22.04

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Four (4) years of work experience as a Linux engineer
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience with Ubuntu, LTS upgrades, scripting (Bash & Python)
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience in configuration management (Ansible, AWX), security hardening, cloud-init
  • This is a hybrid role and would require to be near one of our three US office locations (Memphis, McLean, Dallas)
  • Travel up to 2 work trips per year

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
  • Seven (7) years of professional work experience in Technology or a related field
  • Six (6) years of work experience as a Linux engineer
