The Big Data Developer will be responsible for helping deliver Business Intelligence efforts. The candidate will manage existing data extraction jobs and play a vital role in building new data pipelines from various structured and unstructured sources into Hadoop.
The qualified candidate will work with heterogeneous data models, mapping, and transformation, and will be responsible for working with various OR mapping tools and familiarity with Data as Service (DaaS).
Required Skills/Experience:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Java Enterprise ecosystem (Design, Development, Test, Deploy on Production).
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Hadoop/Hive/MapReduce/Pig/Sqoop/Flume.
- Ability to segment and organize data from disparate sources; knowledge of data security and encryption models is desirable.
- Experience working with Hadoop/HBase/Hive/MRV1/MRV2.
- Experience orchestrating complex data flows.
- Experience with Apache Spark, Storm, Kafka is preferred.
- Deep understanding and ability to use SQL, XML, JSON, and UNIX.
- Experience in integrating heterogeneous applications.
- Working knowledge of ESB is preferred.
- Experience designing and supporting RESTful Web Services.
- Knowledge of various Open Source tools and technologies in the Java Enterprise ecosystem.
- Demonstrated capability to drive results through effective collaboration.
- Experience working with Systems Operation Department to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Knowledge of Data Governance processes is a plus.
- Experience with IBM CDC, IBM Watson Explorer, or Apache Solr is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as contribute to team efforts.
- Strong critical thinking, decision making, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences.
- Ability and desire to learn new skills and techniques.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
