Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Career Civil or Water Resources Engineer in our Pensacola, Florida or Mobile, Alabama office. The position will dig into the details of environmental due diligence and environmental regulatory compliance, working closely with attorneys, while further developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications;
- Prepare and review technical documents including both writing and the creation of visual exhibits and maps;
- Design Civil and/or water resources infrastructure related to stormwater management systems landfill design, and site layout;
- Act as assistant project manager and support proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, scope control, delegation;
- Conduct and manage fieldwork associated with design and construction services;
- Prepare task orders and proposals including scope of work, cost/fee estimates, schedule, presentations, etc.;
- Coordinate work efforts with multi-disciplinary project teams; and
- Play a supporting role in our sell-manage-do business model, business development, recruiting, staff development, and mentoring.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering. (required)
- Advanced degree in civil or environmental engineering. (preferred)
- Professional Engineer license (P.E.) (preferred)
- At least 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
- Strong technical writing, project management, and communication skills. (required)
- Experience with design software tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D. (required)
- Occasional fieldwork and overnight travel. (required)
- Experience in managing a project or task-level budget of at least $25k. (preferred)
- Experience with modeling and design software tools such as HydroCAD, ICPR, EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS. (preferred)
- Experience conducting field investigations. (preferred)
- An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
- Experience in scoping, cost estimating, and scheduling. (preferred)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
