Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and creative Structural Engineer to join a customer facing US based team for a successful and growing Solar Tracker company. Reporting into the Director of Engineering you should be well versed using structural analysis tools and also design codes. Prior knowledge and experience of working with solar trackers is also highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Engineering: Oversee structural and geotechnical evaluations for solar tracker projects, delivering specialized technical support during development and construction phases.
  • Geotechnical Review: Analyze geotechnical reports to understand their implications for foundation design and overall project viability.
  • Collaborative Design Efforts: Collaborate with engineering teams to develop foundation designs suited to a range of site conditions, including complex terrains.
  • Structural Analysis and Optimization: Perform in-depth structural analyses and optimize solar tracker designs while adhering to applicable regulations and standards.
  • Technical Support for Stakeholders: Provide innovative solutions and technical advice to both customers and internal teams to address project challenges.
  • Cost Optimization: Engage in value engineering processes to minimize project costs without compromising structural integrity or safety.
  • Project Coordination: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
  • Client Interaction: Participate in technical discussions, presentations, and project reviews with clients, offering valuable engineering insights and solutions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in structural and geotechnical engineering, particularly in the solar sector (experience with solar trackers is preferred).
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as STAAD, LPile, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. building codes and design standards, including those related to seismic, wind, and foundation design.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting utility-scale solar projects from conception through execution.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.
