Renewable Engineer (DER Systems) – Perth Office – 12 Month Maximum Term Opportunity with the potential to extend
Do you have project experience and technical expertise in distributed energy resources (DER) and are looking for an opportunity to help shape the future of renewable energy projects at Western Power?
Your Role in Action
- Provide technical expertise in various distribution power areas including DER technologies such as Stand-alone Power Systems (SPS), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Micro-grids.
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders including vendors, project sponsors & delivery teams, operational & maintenance teams and various industry bodies.
- Assist in development of processes, design manuals, reports and technical specifications for DER technologies.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians involved in project lifecycle activities.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- A degree in Electrical Engineering/Renewable Engineering or equivalent.
- Eligibility for corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering role including 2 years exposure to DER technologies.
- Relevant industry experience and knowledge in the design and operation of DER systems (such as SPS, BESS and Micro-grids).
- Knowledge of Safety in Design principles.
- Knowledge of project and design management processes and workflows.
- Knowledge of distribution networks, civil/structural design and construction experience is desirable.
- Sound stakeholder communication and influencing skills.
- Well-developed written communication and presentation skills.
- Be outcome focused with a high level of autonomy.
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’.
