Job Requirements / Description

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Knowledge of using algebra and trigonometry as it applies to machining custom parts.

- Read and understand mechanical drawings.

- Knowledge of geometric and other tolerancing techniques.

- Have electro-optical & mechanical experience and knowledge necessary to assist in laser maintenance support and communications tasks as required.

- Work with chemicals and solvents.

- Excellent vision and eye hand coordination.

- Read, clearly write and speak English fluently.

JOB DUTIES:

- Multi-task by running multiple machines and performing pre and post processing as required to meet production delivery dates.

- Plan and organize work to accomplish production schedules.

- Keep current and accurate production records.

- Maintain focus and attention to detail throughout production shifts.

- Train others.

- Handle and manipulate small parts by hand or by using tweezers.

- Use personal protective devices (PPE) as described in LPT production processes.

- Handle small, delicate parts at an efficient throughput rate either by hand or using tweezers.

- Pay high attention to details.

- Set up and tear down jobs on CNC machines.

- Use microscopes, micrometers, optical Coordinate Measuring Equipment, and other metrology equipment to ensure that parts are in conformance with specifications.

- Work with and make changes to programs and program LPT machinery

- Process LPT production material according to process descriptions, customer drawings, and detailed training.

- Follow all safety requirements and procedures required during operation and use of laser machining equipment.

- Follow LPT's ISO9001:2015 quality system requirements in all aspects of the job.

- Assist with specifying and making custom fixturing as needed for processing LPT's customer products.

- Fixture and set-up according to LPT process documentation and supervisors' directions.

- Perform first article and in-process inspections using LPT metrology equipment (OGP Smartscopes, VCCM inspection equipment & hand tools).

- Enter job data into program databases as required.

- Produce quality customer parts by operating multiple machines as required to meet LPT production schedules.

- Troubleshoot and communicate optical issue as they arise.

- Assist with pre and post processing efforts as time permits.

- Keep work area clean and organized.

- Regular attendance and punctuality are required.

- Work as a Team member to ensure that production schedules are met.

- Enter other information into LPT computer system as required.

- Create and assist in developing documentation for LPT equipment operation & setup as required to maintain LPT's high standards of customer satisfaction.
