Job Description
Job Title: Entry Level Lighting Controls Application Engineer I
You will gain exciting real-world experience and understanding of architectural and electrical drawing sets, Title 24 building code requirements, hands-on design of lighting control systems using Visual Controls software, and the opportunity to work with our skilled team of engineers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with contractor/distributor sales team and installer technical support.
- Create control layouts/designs.
- Create control submittals.
- Understand wiring diagrams, product details, and when to apply them.
- Create bills of material.
- Provide telephone support for technical inquiries, programming/installation questions, and troubleshooting assistance.
- Engage vendor technicians/engineers/contractors as required to complete work efficiently.
- Maintain current Title 24 code knowledge.
- Attend all department meetings, required product trainings, and 16500 meetings (virtual and/or in-person).
- Assist control team members on project overflow.
- Travel may be required and may include job site visits, trips with customers or other 16500 employees to manufacturer plants, tradeshows locally and possibly out of state.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. Disciplines in Engineering, Science, Math, Technology or similar.
- Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe/BlueBeam, Microsoft Teams, Google Sheets/docs, and aptitude for Quotation Platforms.
- AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
- Must be able to speak and write professionally. Communication skills with customers, design clients, and co-workers are a necessity.
- Team-oriented with a strong ability to successfully collaborate with peers.
- Strong ability to maintain high-level focus while multi-tasking in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
