Job assignment location will be determined closer to your start date.ResponsibilitiesField OperationsInterpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craftPrepare work plans and work packagesOrder and schedule material deliveriesAssist in tasks like field surveying, labor timesheets, and preparing JHA'sParticipate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety trainingsSupervise field operationsOffice EngineeringPerform takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documentsPerform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operationsAssist in maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandumsGenerate change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by Project ManagerProvide field support and supervise subcontractor operationsEstimatingReview and analyze data relative to projects, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bidComplete plans and specification reviews for projects while assessing risk areasComplete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documentsQualificationsAbility and willingness to travel and relocate to small and large cities as business requiresUndergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related degree, minimum overall GPA of 3.0Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience is preferredPassion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time including working rotating schedules, shift work, or weekend work as required by projectsDemonstrated commitment to ethics, integrity and taking initiativeStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectivesStrong time management ability and attention to detailMust have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to and from workOther common names for this role: Office Engineer, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Engineer 1, Engineer IOther Requirements:• Regular, reliable attendance• Work productively and meet deadlines timely• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment• Perform work safely and effectively.
