Principal SW Engineer

Description

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer for our GigaSMART team. The candidate will be working as part of a dynamic team developing high performance packet processing applications for our next generation products. The candidate will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing features in networking and security technologies.

What You’ll Do

1. Help develop innovative network security solutions to expand Gigamon portfolio
2. Design and develop high-performance multithreaded software applications on multicore processors
3. Contribute to overall product requirements, architecture, and design
4. Propose designs/solutions to meet requirements for new products
5. Conduct feasibility analysis for proposed solutions
6. Mentor junior engineers in software development, technology, and processes

What You’ve Done

1. Minimum BSEE/CS with 10+ years of software development experience in networking software architecture and Design
2. Hands-on experience in networking protocols especially TCP/IP, SSL/TL
3. Proven experience with performance optimization techniques in multicore environments and profiling tools
4. Demonstrable experience developing high performance networking applications using DPDK
5. Experience in Firewalls, IDS, IPS, and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) techniques is a plus
6. Experience developing system-level software in Linux development environment

1. Expert in C/C++ coding
2. Strong understanding of multicore architectures and programming techniques
3. Solid understanding of distributed systems, load balancing, caching, and resource management
4. Excellent written/oral communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a high-achieving team
