Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is looking for a motivated and determined Engineer II, Software to join our highly skilled Engineering team in Carlsbad. As a member of our top-notch Engineering department, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on our forward-thinking Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gene AI) projects, web-responsive applications, and microservices architecture. We are searching for an individual who is enthusiastic about creating, enhancing, evaluating, implementing, and maintaining innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with a diverse group of more than two hundred Software Engineers to drive innovation and progress.
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of solutions using the latest cloud and frontend technologies.
- Ensure the flawless implementation of Non-Functional Requirements (NFR), including security, performance, and cost.
- Design and implement efficient database structures using SQL.
- Make use of AWS Cloud Services like S3, CloudFront, EKS, RDS, and CloudWatch to create applications that are scalable and dependable.
- Apply development techniques that prioritize thorough unit and integration testing.
- Effectively document artifacts and processes, and provide clear explanations to others.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other related technical fields. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of solid experience in full stack development.
- Proficiency in OOP languages such as Java and/or Python.
- Strong hands-on experience with Angular, React, or similar frontend technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their services.
- Knowledge of database design and implementation using SQL.
- Experience with version control systems like GitHub.
- Understanding of microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices.
- Agile/Scrum software development experience.

Compensation And Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $75,900.00-$90,000.00. This Position May Also Be Eligible To Receive a Variable Annual Bonus Based On Company, Team, And/or Individual Performance Results In Accordance With Company Policy.
