Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is looking for a motivated and determined Engineer II, Software to join our highly skilled Engineering team in Carlsbad. As a member of our top-notch Engineering department, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on our forward-thinking Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gene AI) projects, web-responsive applications, and microservices architecture. We are searching for an individual who is enthusiastic about creating, enhancing, evaluating, implementing, and maintaining innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate closely with a diverse group of more than two hundred Software Engineers to drive innovation and progress.
  2. Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of solutions using the latest cloud and frontend technologies.
  3. Ensure the flawless implementation of Non-Functional Requirements (NFR), including security, performance, and cost.
  4. Design and implement efficient database structures using SQL.
  5. Make use of AWS Cloud Services like S3, CloudFront, EKS, RDS, and CloudWatch to create applications that are scalable and dependable.
  6. Apply development techniques that prioritize thorough unit and integration testing.
  7. Effectively document artifacts and processes, and provide clear explanations to others.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other related technical fields. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of solid experience in full stack development.
  3. Proficiency in OOP languages such as Java and/or Python.
  4. Strong hands-on experience with Angular, React, or similar frontend technologies.
  5. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their services.
  6. Knowledge of database design and implementation using SQL.
  7. Experience with version control systems like GitHub.
  8. Understanding of microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
  9. Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices.
  10. Agile/Scrum software development experience.

Compensation And Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $75,900.00-$90,000.00. This Position May Also Be Eligible To Receive a Variable Annual Bonus Based On Company, Team, And/or Individual Performance Results In Accordance With Company Policy.
