We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr Principal Engineer Network to work in Chantilly, VA.

What to expect:

Responsibilities:

1. Provide support onsite, remotely, over the phone, or via email.
2. Support multiple locations in the NOVA area.
3. Develop solutions for networks that support mission-critical and mission-essential infrastructure.
4. Execute recommended changes to existing networks to drive change, create efficiencies, enhance system security posture.
5. Perform break fix tasks at various levels of the OSI model.
6. Participate in an on-call / pager duty role.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
2. 8 years' experience with a bachelor's degree in an IT field; 6 years with a Master's degree; 12 years' experience in lieu of degree.
3. Experience with various network protocols, such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
4. Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies such as VLANs, trunking (port tagging), spanning-tree and protocols.
5. Understanding and operating network CLI's (Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/JunOS).
6. Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
7. Knowledge of the OSI Model.
8. Experience with routing, switching, and firewall concepts and protocols, such as OSPF and Spanning-tree, state-full and stateless traffic policies, and IPv4 CIDR subnetting.
9. Experience with configuring, deploying, and integrating network devices and services.
10. Experience in producing and maintaining technical, configuration, and diagram documentation.
11. Knowledge or experience with IDS/IPS sensors and writing policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
2. Superb ability to lead troubleshooting and create solutions within a diverse network environment.
3. Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, routing, IPSec, and IPTables or Firewalld.
4. Expert knowledge of fault tolerant, high availability, network infrastructure environments.
5. Author and maintain technical documentation and illustrations.
6. Produce and present work instruction documentation.
7. Knowledge or experience with Configuration Management (CM) processes.
8. Expert knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
9. Expert knowledge of monitoring and auditing networks.
10. Must be able to self-teach, self-learn, and provide direction to junior engineers.

Salary Range: $146,300 - $219,500
