Job Summary:
Our Production team is in need of a Production Quality Engineer to collect quality metrics for products with an aim in practicing and executing design feedback for manufacturing, product quality improvement management, covering post-sales product quality and services support, and customer satisfaction. The Production Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for the quality functions covering supply chain and incoming quality, and in-house manufacturing quality, product reliability and performance quality. The individual will work with the senior management of the global production operations in establishing quality-focus teams, mandating standard practices of quality principles, and will attend to the oversight responsibility to all global operations sites, cross-functional departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Champion standard practices of quality principles, from defect detection to root-cause and preventive action, and continuous improvement
• Establish and enhance of quality control where appropriate
• Enforce process quality control and defect countermeasures at suppliers, CM Partners, as well as ones at SMC internal
• Perform product level failure analysis, and define appropriate design of experiments to collect and work on data and results to substantiate finding or conclusions
• Identify trend and opportunity for improvement of process and control by periodically reviewing data from quality systems and help teams to see quality
• Translate customer quality requirement and take on responsibility for end-to-end product
• Help to set up and enhance corporate quality standards and measurements
Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.
Qualifications:
• BS in EE / IE preferred. MS in EE is highly desired.
• 2+ years and more, of relevant hands-on experience in electronic and computer products, and quality management systems in the computer industry preferred
• A strong plus with product quality essentials in a product company
• Need working knowledge and prior experience in system integration business
• Prior experience in supplier quality control and management
• Have excellent communication and analytical skills in problem solving. MS Excel spreadsheet functioning knowledge and skills will be a strong plus
• Experience in front line quality leadership program and hosting of quality audits, and quality training programs
• Excellent writing style and demonstrated expertise in compiling procedures and documents
Salary Range
$75,000 - $95,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
