You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!Key job responsibilitiesAs a senior Interdisciplinary System Engineer, you will define, develop, test, and deliver solutions for Prime Air's Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) subsystems.• Break down and frame problems using CONOPs, use cases, structural/functional decomposition, and other system representations to clarify needs and align technical teams• Drive and prioritize execution of system test campaigns that span lab and field-testing environments in collaboration with subsystem development and test teams• Develop and communicate system integration and evaluation strategies and plans in support of program learning, technical risk reduction, verification, and validation• Perform technical risk assessments, devise mitigation plans, and create system test strategies• Propose changes to the system architecture and allocations across multiple sub-systems and components that improve system performance and robustness• Build quantitative models and analyses (Excel, MATLAB, Python) to conduct trade studies, refine requirements, and understand key system drivers across the integrated systems of systemsBasic QualificationsB.S degree or equivalent in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field4+ years of experience in systems engineering2+ years of experience in the design, integration, and testing of GNC systemsKnowledge of software engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware development life cycleExperience communicating with management, as well as technical and business teams to collect requirements, describe, product features, and technical designsPreferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field6+ years of experience in systems engineering4+ years of experience in the design, integration, and testing of GNC systemsFamiliarity with RTCA-DO178 standardsKnowledge of fundamental aerodynamics theoryAbility to model and understand signal processing and/or physics-based dynamicsExperience with simulation (software/hardware in-the-loop)Strong mathematical/statistical fundamentalsProficiency in at least one modern programming languageAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market.
