Job Description

Core Manufacturing (CM) has opportunities for you to help coordinate and oversee ongoing core production activities as well as help develop the manufacturing processes of tomorrow. CM engineers work with a wide range of stakeholders to solve complex real-world problems that are encountered during the manufacturing process, regularly balancing quality with cost/schedule. CM engineers also regularly team with vendor engineers to develop improved and more efficient manufacturing processes with a focus on improved manufacturing margin, improved performance, reduced cost, and/or reduced span.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 6 years of relevant experience; orMaster's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified; orEDO qualified and 2 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or3 years SRE qualified and Water Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only); orSRE qualified and 6 years of experience.
Preferred Skills

Prior experience in a manufacturing setting
Prior experience in a mechanical design function
Prior experience in data analytics, statistics, or electrical engineering
Demonstrated ability to team/collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
Good written and oral communication skills

Pay Range

$92,900.00 - $145,200.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
