ClearNote Health develops clinical tests to detect cancer when it can still be cured. We are searching for a LIMS Administrator/Developer to join the San Diego team. This role will be responsible for the administration, configuration, customization, and maintenance of the LIMS software platform within our organization. You will work closely with laboratory personnel, IT staff, software vendors, and management to ensure the LIMS meets the needs of the organization and complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of both laboratory processes and software development principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- LIMS Administration:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within the LIMS.
- Configure and maintain system settings, workflows, and data structures to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, provide user support, and coordinate with vendors for resolution when necessary.
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement improvements as needed.
- Customization and Development:
- Design, develop, and implement custom modules, reports, and interfaces to enhance the functionality of the LIMS.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Write and maintain documentation for customizations, including code repositories, user manuals, validation documentation, and training materials.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to laboratory informatics.
- Experience managing third-party LIMS developers.
- Integration and Data Management:
- Integrate the LIMS with other laboratory instruments, software systems, and databases to streamline data transfer and analysis.
- Develop and maintain data standards, validation rules, and data integrity checks to ensure the accuracy and consistency of information stored in the LIMS.
- Implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures to protect critical laboratory data.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training sessions and workshops for end-users to ensure they can effectively utilize the LIMS.
- Serve as a point of contact for user inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support.
- Collaborate with IT staff to coordinate system upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing disruptions to laboratory operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Laboratory Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) working with LIMS administration, configuration, and development. Experience with LabVantage and Benchling is a plus.
- Strong understanding of laboratory processes, workflows, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, CLIA, ISO).
- Experience with databases management systems (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and data integration techniques (e.g., ETL/ELT, APIs).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in LIMS administration or related field is a plus.
- Maintain high availability in the applications you are developing and overseeing. Support teammates by fixing incidents and outages quickly.
