RESPONSIBLE FOR: At Coburn’s Exclusive, the CNC Operator runs a variety of machinery to create architectural metal structures. This includes a laser cutter, a press brake, a water jet machine, and a variety of other machines that are programmed by the Design team. The CNC Operator monitors machine output and quality, and lends to the overall productivity of the workflow.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: The CNC Operator position differs from the Lead CNC Operator in that there are no supervisory duties or responsibilities. The CNC Operator is expected to have an advanced knowledge of the machines and how they operate, and should be able to work independently, following Coburn’s Exclusive’s processes.SPECIFIC DUTIES OF THE JOB:The CNC Operator uses blueprints, specifications, work orders, orthographic drawings and geometric dimensions and tolerances to plan daily machining.The CNC Operator manages stock inventory with regular checks, and communicates material needs to the CNC department lead.The CNC Operator lifts stock to load feeding mechanisms, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.The CNC Operator detects and troubleshoots system malfunctions through taking measurements, adjusting controls, reprogramming machines, and closely monitoring grooving, drilling and cutting. It is expected that the CNC Operator will work with Maintenance personnel when needed.The CNC Operator inspects the work area and machines that were used during the day prior to leaving at the end of each shift, ensuring that the machines are prepared to run the next shift with no delays or interruptions.The CNC Operator adheres to all company, local, state and federal protocol and safety regulations.The CNC Operator completes regular preventative maintenance at the direction of the Maintenance Manager and calls for repairs as needed.The CNC Operator communicates with other team members and accurately documents daily production operations to maintain expected productivity levels.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABILITIES: These functions are performed on a regular basis unless otherwise specified.Ability to sit, stand, grasp, type, stoop, reach, walk, push, and pull for sustained periods of time.Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.Ability to read, calculate, measure, plan, and compile information.Ability to investigate, organize, explain, and present information.Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in English on a daily basis.Ability to make rational decisions.Ability to accept direction and orders from supervisor and others in authority.Ability and willingness to accept and follow through on recommendations for improvement as a result of performance appraisal, monitoring, self-assessment, and daily supervision.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RELATED TO WORKING CONDITIONS:Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis to, but not limited to, local, state, and national destinations.
