THE HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER WILL
* Understands human interfaces with complex systems Experienced with Human Computer or Human Robotic Interfaces.
* Ability to assess human interfaces for usability, cognitive ease, and other important factors Knowledge of best practices in human-centered design.
* Some software experience preferred.
* Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience with software verication and validation processes Experience with complex distributed systems.
Experience with one or more of the following
* Human performance.
* Human interface.
* Human error avoidance.
* Design for usability.
* Design for maintainability.
* Accident avoidance.
* Safety hazard avoidance.
* Risk mitigation.
* Environmental limits & controls.
* Experience with autonomous systems.
* Experience with mission and safety critical systems.
* Remote operations experience.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude.
REQUISITION PREFERENCES
* Spacecraft Avionics and Software Architecture experience. NASA software and systems development standards.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency maybe a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
